Sandra “Sandy” Bigrigg Rowell, 78, of Lake Cherokee was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 6, 2024, in Longview, Texas surrounded by her beloved family.
Sandy was born September 11, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Wayne and June Bigrigg. She graduated from high school and attended college at Ohio State University and earned her nursing degree and then worked at Lakeside Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana. Sandy married her best friend and love of her life, Mack Rowell, on July 2, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio. In 1993, the family moved to Lake Cherokee where she later began her teaching career at Kilgore Heights Elementary School. Sandy and Mack enjoyed their life together on the lake. Sandy’s world revolved around her family and treasured her time with all her wonderful grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She especially enjoyed cooking for all of them. When they were not together, they talked on the phone every day. She enjoyed leisurely drives and reading, but her all-time favorite outing was antiquing.
Sandy was survived by her children Michael (Laura) Rowell, Keith (Jenny) Rowell, Kevin (Randi) Rowell, her beloved grandchildren; Michael, Nicole, Megan, Morgan, Glen, Landon, Jonah, and Jacy; her precious great- grandchildren Hunter, Jacob, Kairi, Olivia; her sister; Susan Six, her brother Craig Bigrigg, her dear friends, and other dearly loved family members. Sandy is deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mack and his children Susan & Mark. She is now reunited with her parents and grandparents.
Her family will receive guests at her Memorial Gathering at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore on Thursday, July 25 from 11:00am until 1:00 pm.
