Stroud Morton, a dedicated family man and retired member of the United States Air Force passed away on August 21, 2024, in Tyler, Texas, at the age of 79. Born on February 17, 1945, in London, England, he embodied a spirit of hard work and devotion throughout his life.

Stroud's career was marked by his service in military, where he distinguished himself as a proud airman in the United States Air Force. Following his military career, he contributed to the community through his work with East Texas Crematory, Inc., and Audex, continuing his legacy of service and commitment.

Stroud was renowned for his unwavering love for his family. His interest in genealogy reflected his deep appreciation for family connections and history, ensuring that his loved ones remained aware of their roots.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda Morton; daughters Laura and husband Jacob Bryan, and Amie Morton Wildey; son John Stroud Morton and wife Reanna Morton; stepdaughter Dorothy and husband David Mount; sister Wendy Gomez; and grandchildren Ashlyn Morton, Anaya Morton, Jonathan Mount, Isaiah Hardin, James Hardin, and Seth Hardin, along with three great-grandchildren. Stroud's legacy will also be remembered through his late parents, George Stroud Morton and Ivy George Morton.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by the funeral service on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Both services will take place at Rader Funeral Home 401 N Martin St, Kilgore, TX 75662. The burial will be at the Hickory Grove Cemetery. 

Stroud loved to tell stories of his life adventures, one being while he and his family lived in Westleton, England he would chaperone the children on school trips to France and Belgium. He enjoyed this so much he would even chaperone trip his own children where not attending. His family and friends will always remember that he loved to play practical jokes. 

Stroud Morton will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His hardworking nature, devotion to family defined a life well-lived, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to share in his journey.
