Sue Satcher Reed, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, in Longview, Texas, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on August 29, 1933, in Alexandria, Louisiana, Sue lived her life with passion and purpose.

 For over thirty years, Sue dedicated herself to her career at the University Computing Company, eventually retiring before continuing her journey in a fulfilling role at UT Southwestern. She held her career with pride, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to her work. Education was a cornerstone of her life, having graduated from Kilgore High School and North Texas College, where she laid the foundations for her exceptional career. 

Sue was known for her spirited personality; she spoke her mind and lived life on her own terms, making her a true force of nature. Her outlook on life was characterized by her distinctive sense of humor and her deep affection for those around her.  Beyond her professional endeavors, Sue found joy in life's simple pleasures. She adored puzzles and reading, and she cherished memorable evenings spent at Elvis impersonator shows with her dear friends. She had a profound love for cardinals, which captured her heart and highlighted the beauty she found in nature.

 Sue's greatest pride stemmed from her enduring love story with her husband, Bill Reed. They were high school sweethearts who rekindled their romance in 2007, marrying shortly thereafter. Bill was the love of her life, and they shared a bond that many aspire to emulate. His passing in 2017 left a void in her heart that she carried with grace and resilience.

She is survived by her loving brother, Don (Esther) Satcher; her cherished nieces and nephews; Stacy (Marty) Wallace, Susan (Curtis) Gray, Stuart (Donna) Brown, Amy Seelbach, and Sheri (Randy) Bates, and Don Jr. (Pam) Satcher, her great-nieces and great-nephews; Daniel (Lauren) Morris, Sarah (Matt) Dickey, Kevin Brown, and Jesse Gray. Sue's extended family and friends, including her dearest friends Nancy Birdwell and Denise Wilkerson, will forever hold her dear, and they will carry her vibrant spirit in their hearts..

 Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Reed, her parents Everett and Faye Satcher, her sister Gwyn Woods and her husband Woody, her sister Peggy Brown, and her great-nephew Matthew Morris, as well as her great-niece Kayla Morris, great-great-nephew Landry Morris and nephew Marshall Brown. 

 Sue Satcher Reed's life was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and a fierce spirit. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, reminding us to embrace life with enthusiasm and to cherish every moment spent with loved ones. She will be laid to rest at Kilgore Cemetery, a celebration of her incredible journey will be held at Kilgore Cemetery on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 10:00 am.
