Thomas David Nixon

September 13, 1967 — February 14, 2024

Mr. Thomas David Nixon, 56, of Chalk Hill, Texas completed his earthly journey on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Longview Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. David was born on September 13, 1967, in Kilgore, Texas to Thomas Earl and Mary Waurine Nixon. The youngest of the five Nixon children, David was deeply loved by his parents, three sisters and brother.

David was a hardworking man who never shied from hard work and was considered a “jack” of all trades. His most recent job was the most important of his lifetime, taking care of his father during the last year of his life. He would forever cherish the time spent with his father as his life came to completion in 2014. David was a family man through and through, from caring for his father to being there any time he was needed. The serenity offered by the lake brought David happiness unlike anything else.

He loved fishing and watching the sunset over the lake with his beloved little dog, Abbie and his cat, Jack.

Left to cherish David’s memory are his children; Taylor Nixon, Ashley Reeves (Jason), Thomas Dylan Nixon, and Dr. Kimberly Goodspeed (Mark); sisters Linda Sartor (Tom), Lesle Williams (Brian), and Lisa McGaw (John Gelder); brother Daniel Nixon, nieces, and nephews, a cat named Jack and his adored little dog, Abbie. He will be deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.

In passing, David was reunited with his parents Thomas and Waurine Nixon; paternal grandparents Earl and Maudell Nixon, and maternal grandparents Daniel and Gladys Turnbow.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a simple graveside service that will be held Monday, March 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at Danville Cemetery in Kilgore, Texas.
