Verna Lee Sullivan

Verna Lee Sullivan passed away on February 6, 2023. She was born in Alvin, Texas on January 17,1928 to George Haggard and Pearl King Haggard. She is survived by a niece, Jane D. Landry (Mark) of Metairie, Louisiana and sister-in-law, Carol Kay Cannon of Carmel, Indiana. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Larry J Sullivan and her sister, Arlyne H. Daly. She graduated from Texas State College for Women (now Texas Women’s University) with a Bachelor of Science degree in music education. She taught in the Freeport and Odessa, Texas school systems and retired after 41 years. In retirement she enjoyed traveling the world and attending the West Texas Jazz Parties.

Graveside services for Verna Sullivan will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Kilgore Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Hampton officiating under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Donations may be made to Texas Women’s University P.O. Box 425618 Denton, TX 76204-5618 in Verna Lee’s name.
