Vincent Samuel Slaughter was born August 7, 1962, in Kilgore, TX to Rene Samuel Slaughter and Bettie Lou Fyffe Slaughter. Vince began working as an auto mechanic at Owens Automotive Supply & Repair while attending Kilgore High School in the class of 1980. He also worked as an automotive parts manager at Bumper to Bumper and AutoZone stores, and as a mechanic production tech at CSI Southern Plastics in Kilgore. He enjoyed his work, fishing, woodworking, Dallas Cowboys football, Nascar, and attending live music performances. He loved his family, including his parents, siblings, children, one granddaughter, and his dogs. Vince also enjoyed hanging with his friends and was always making new friends. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He followed the advice of his late father: "Remember to have some fun!"
He is survived by his son, Vincent Samuel Slaughter, Jr., of Kilgore; daughter, Christina Hunt (Andrew) and granddaughter, Lily, of Hallsville; step-son, Jeremy Griffin of Kilgore; sister, Kim Gore (Willard), niece Erin, of Kilgore, and nephew, Blake Gore (Lissa) of Longview; sister, Robin Huskey (Teddy Haynes), of Liberty City; niece Tanya Hudson (Toby) and twins, of Liberty City; and niece, Marissa Hunsberger (Philip), of Sanger, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and his partner, Frankie Griffin.
Graveside services for Vincent Slaughter, 59 of Kilgore will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview, TX, with Rev. Riley Pippen officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mr. Slaughter passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 in Kilgore.
